MISSION
Thales is a renowned expert in precision-guided rocket systems for helicopters and jet aircraft.
As a System Engineer, you will join a diverse development team in the Engineering department. Your role will involve contributing to the design, development, and qualification of new products or concepts, as well as providing technical support to Operations and Projects for the existing product line. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge Model-Based-Design methods and tools in a high-tech setting. The role will require strong planning and organizational skills due to involvement in multiple projects. Additionally, system engineering is considered a vital capability within our business and offers ample opportunities for career advancement.
RESPONSIBILITY
- Develop and enhance Algorithms and Control Laws for Guidance, Navigation, Flight Controls, and Aiming Systems.
- Evaluate Algorithm performance using analytical methods and Monte-Carlo simulations.
- Validate and verify Algorithms for updates and new designs.
- Aid in integrating Algorithms into hardware using code generation and Hardware-in-the-loop test rig.
- Optimize C code generation and collaborate with the embedded team for algorithm integration.
- Participate in trials and process flight test data.
- Maintain digital twin for current and upcoming products.
- Model physical behaviors of new concepts and conduct simulations to guide development decisions.
- Collaborate with Bid & Project teams on technical offers and customer queries.
- Work with Operations and Quality teams to enhance calibration procedures and address acceptance test anomalies.
- Engage with partners, integrators, and customers during domestic and international missions.
PROFILE
- Hold a Master's Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Electronics, or Informatics.
- Possess strong mathematical and statistical skills, with a comfort level in handling large datasets.
- Exhibit an analytical mindset and a reputation for thoroughness.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to simplify complex problems.
- Proficient in Matlab/Simulink, C/C++, Python, and Git.
- Understand the challenges of implementing real-time algorithms in microcontrollers.
- Show self-motivation, initiative, and a keen interest in innovation trends.
- Familiarity with Agile culture and a preference for high-tech sensors (e.g., optical, magnetic) are advantageous.
- Prior experience in aerospace, space, defense, or automotive industries, along with knowledge of standards such as DO-178, ARP4754, or ISO26262, is beneficial.
