Business Development Specialist

We are currently seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to be part of our dynamic team based in the UK. As a key player, you will take charge of the complete sales process for Lonza Cell Biology and Transfection product categories. Your primary focus will be on enhancing sales by offering comprehensive solutions to our partners in the Pharma & Biotech sector and their affiliates. Collaboration with various support functions may be required, ensuring a holistic approach to customer service. Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver on sales targets and oversee the sales pipeline from lead generation to closure
  • Manage all sales operations within the assigned region, including identification, acquisition, expansion, and retention
  • Identify and engage potential clients and businesses within the designated area
  • Enhance product expertise to effectively present both off-the-shelf and customized cell and media products
  • Understand client requirements and recommend suitable Lonza solutions through a consultative approach
  • Efficiently plan and organize tasks to ensure optimal coverage of assigned accounts and territories
  • Proactively engage with customers to ensure high levels of satisfaction
  • Coordinate with internal teams to address customer needs promptly
  • Share insights on applications and industry trends to mentor team members and drive performance
  • Maintain accurate customer records in the CRM system
  • Undertake any other duties as delegated

Key requirements:

  • Hold a degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) in Life Sciences
  • Possess excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrate proficiency in cell culture and assay setup
  • Prior experience in Business Development within the industry is advantageous
  • Ability to work independently from a home-based office
  • Fluency in English is a prerequisite, proficiency in a second European language is a plus
