Position:

Key responsibilities:

  • Offer legal guidance and advice to the ECF's HR team on a wide range of employment law issues, including but not limited to recruitment, contracts, employee relations, performance management, and terminations.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to assess the impact of local labor laws and regulations on HR policies and practices in different countries.
  • Review and draft employment contracts, policies, handbooks, and other HRrelated documents to ensure compliance with local legal requirements and organizational standards.
  • Collaborate closely with regional teams to address legal concerns and provide tailored solutions that align with local laws and cultural considerations.
  • Stay updated on changes in employment regulation and legislation across various jurisdictions and advise on potential implications for HR practices and policies.
  • Assist in the resolution of employment disputes and claims, as necessary.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions on HRrelated legal topics to HR professionals and other relevant staff members.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsels and manage relationships with legal service providers as needed.

Requirements:

**Experience and competencies

  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in practicing law, with a focus on employment law or HRrelated legal matters.
  • Strong understanding of international employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problemsolving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to nonlegal stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Previous experience working in the nonprofit sector or with international organizations is a plus.
