The purpose of the Vandermeulen Brothers is to bring out the best New York has to offer: delicious flame-grilled steak burgers, daily fresh ingredients and authentic & dynamic guest service in a vibrant décor.
In this role, the District Manager will oversee recruiting, training, and development, as well as manage budget compliance and overall operations for three Manhattn's restaurants located in the Flemish region (Antwerp, Ghent, and Bruges).
The primary focus is to ensure excellent guest experiences, maintain sustainable team member and manager pipelines, and drive profitability.The District Manager reports directly to the COO and achieves results through continuous coaching. It's important to note that, in tandem with this role, a colleague District Manager will be responsible for handling the operational aspects of the restaurants located in Brussels and Leuven

Responsibilities
- Sets a vision for their restaurants in line with Manhattn's company goals
- Has a clear understanding of, and is able to perform, every role in the restaurant
- Inspires and fosters an entrepreneurial spirit within each restaurant with a passion for excellence
- Builds a top performing team of hourly staff and managers through recruiting, training, and development by providing constant coaching and feedback
- Responsible for identifying talent within their restaurants and developing a sustainable pipeline of people from Kitchen Ninja to Team Leader to District Manager
- Participates in recruiting, hiring, development, and placement of all salary and hourly managers
- Utilizes development journals to own the training, cross training, and development of Store Managers
- Ensures manager evaluations are completed and delivered in a timely manner
- Has a strong understanding of HR policies and procedures. Educates Store Managers and enforces all appropriate personnel policies, labor laws, and security and safety procedures
- Leads difficult conversations, manages performance, and resolves potential conflicts amongst team members in a confidential manner
- Holds monthly management meetings to ensure alignment of goals within restaurants
- Holds teams accountable for excellence in food quality, consistency and execution, throughput, cleanliness and maintenance, and guest experience
- Analyzes information gathered by customer comments, secret shoppers, etc. to identify current and potential problems and puts a plan in place to improve results
- Develops budget and cost controls for each restaurant
- Monitors financial performance, and factors contributing to financial performance, including but not limited to: sales, labor costs, food costs, and operating expenses to ensure efficient, profitable restaurant operations
- Inspires and challenges Store Managers to identify and implement ways to increase revenue and optimize costs without damaging the restaurant team, the brand, or the guest relationship
- Performs administrative tasks associated with the effective management of restaurant operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving operations data for reports
- Performs maintenance management of all 7 restaurants to ensure mínimal downtime
- Responsible for the execution of upcoming initiatives, marketing promotions, and local store marketing events
Requirements:
- 5+ years of multiunit restaurant or retail management experience
- Strong leadership, people management, customer service, and positive interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills and prior experience multitasking
- Sound verbal and written
