Field Agronomist


The Field Agronomist contributes technically to the innovation of the portfolio, focus to maintain/increase the technical reputation of the company on the market and to defend the existing portfolio with technical input/arguments.

The trial results can/will be used by other (European) countries.

By decimating the local knowledge from own and outsourced trials as well as knowledge gained from contacts with institutes/ universities in internal international field excursions and meetings, you enrich the product knowledge in other European countries and bring back knowledge gained from them to the country (cluster) organization.


YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sets up and performs field trials designed to screen, develop, register or demonstrate new plant protection products or to redefine the positioning of the existing product range
  • Synthesizes and reports the field trials and participates in the assessment of the technological profile of the product (technical SWOT analysis)
  • Contributes with profound technical product knowledge to crop management decisions as member of G2M (Go to Market) Teams
  • Primary contact for outsourced trials at research institutes in his/her crop(group) specialization
  • Contact point for the Benelux, cluster and EMEA organization for a specialization other than crop (group), such as innovation, nutrition, variety susceptibility, resistance management, bioavailability, etc.
  • Contributes to and reports back on internal international field visits and technical meetings, on behalf of the rest of the FS (Field Solutions)group
  • Assesses and evaluates the efficacy and side effects of new as well as existing products, uses or concepts to acquire knowledge on the products/uses/concepts for registration and Market development by performing field trials with farmers/growers
  • Secures the quality and timely reporting in Scout of all assigned field studies in English, according to national and international requirements (GEP, EPPO)
  • Seeks and maintains contact and collaborates with official Agronomical information services, national and regional research institutes.
  • Trains the external Agronomic Support colleagues and plans his/her work on a day to day basis in order to maximize efficient use of resources
  • Represents the Field Solutions team by contributing to internal international field visits and/or technical meetings for the crop (group) specialization
  • Gains specific knowledge in crop overarching areas that touch to crop protection such as innovation and digitalization of assessment techniques

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Preferably a study in Agronomy or Biology and/or practical experience in agricultural activities
  • At least 3 years of knowledge and experience in biological field research or comparable experience
  • Knowledge on IPM/IWM and anti resistance strategies and interaction between PPP and beneficials/ pollinators
  • Accurate and consistent worker
  • Strong organizational, planning and analytical skills Flexible and cooperative
  • Excellent team player
  • Experienced with Microsoft programs, a plus is Scout-ARM Commercial feeling and good communicative skills
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Dutch
