Seeking an accounting leader who will provide finance and business partnering leadership to the site Belgian team.
He will lead an accounting team of 5 members and be the primary business partner for the GM / Site / Operations Leaders.
This role will ensure strong financial controls, compliance, and timely and accurate financial reporting.In addition, the position holder will provide valuable decision support, identify and implement operational improvement opportunities and develop a strong finance team.
What you will do:
- Ensure financial information is properly prepared and maintained in accordance with U.S. GAAP/BE GAAP, tax requirements, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, company policy and approval authority matrix
- Manage the monthly financial close and reporting processes to provide timely and accurate financial report
- Verify accuracy and completeness of financial documents and supplementary reporting with accounting procedures through balance sheet reviews
- Lead fulfillment of internal and external audit requirements
- Evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes; recommend and implement changes to policies and processes to strengthen control environment
- Partner in formulation of solutions to operational issues beyond finance department
- Drive continuous improvement and uses systems to increase controls and efficiencies
- Ensures effective data security and controls within ERP, financial systems, and data flows
- Exercise sound data stewardship following data policies (retention, privacy, security) and detailing procedures
How you will get here:
Education:
- Bachelor or Master Degree in accounting or finance
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Accounting or Audit
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Excellent understanding of financial accounting standards
- Knowledge of Belgian direct and indirect tax
- Proficient user of Excel; experience with Mainframe ERP (or equivalent), PowerPoint and Hyperion
- Certified public account certification is an asset
- An international environment experience is an asset
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work autonomously
- Takes personal accountability for decisions and actions
- Challenges the status quo; introduces and proactively seeks out new insights and solutions to strengthen our performance.
