Background:
Located in the Department of Public Health, one of three departments at the Institute, our multi-disciplinary group aims to support the development of people-centred, integrated, accountable, equitable and resilient health systems, and to contribute to policy design and decision-making aligned with these goals.
We adopt a systems approach that focuses on the interface between people, policies, systems and the broader political environment, and in practice encourage synergies across our research, education and capacity-strengthening activities and co-production of knowledge in academic and non-academic fora.
Current focal areas of the group include chronic life-long conditions, pharmaceutical systems and policies, urbanisation and health, health systems resilience in conflict-affected and fragile settings, and migration and health.
Work on this 18-month full-time post will involve supporting and initiating research, teaching, and knowledge dissemination activities of the group, under the guidance of Professor Karina Kielmann, who leads the Equity and Health unit within this group.

What we're looking for:
- Essential
- Postgraduate university degree in health and/or social sciences (e.g. medical sociology, medical anthropology, health policy, political science, public health, migration studies)
- Experience conducting systematic and/or narrative literature reviews
- Excellent qualitative research skills i.e. demonstrated experience in design, data collection, and analysis of qualitative data in a healthrelated or health care setting
- Proficiency in English
- Strong academic writing skills
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Desirable
- Work or research experience with migrants, refugees or asylumseekers
- Experience in research grant preparation and submission
- Experience in health systems and policy research, especially in low
- Teaching experience
- Quantitative research skills as applied to social sciences in health (survey design, sample size calculation, descriptive and inferential statistics, tool development and validation)
- Good working knowledge of French
- Knowledge of Dutch or willingness to learn
