Finance Business Partner Operations

Purpose of the role
The FBPO is part of the Divisional Operations Leadership team and as such takes part in the discussions related to any significant decision in the Operations field, bringing the Finance input and expertise.
This position reports directly to the Head of FBPO with strong dotted line to the Divisional Operations Leader.
Role & Responsibilities
- Operations planning
- Coordinates the development of operational objectives in the 3 years Masterplan process, that is aligned to Group and Division strategic objectives.
- Compiles financial risks and opportunities of the region and corrective action plans.
- Consolidates contingency plans, productivity improvement and corrective actions to ensure financial results and shareholder value are optimized.
- Supports the S&OP process in close collaboration with supply chain.
- Owns the financial aspects of the Capex process for divisional projects: active participation and final (co)signoff of capex opportunity and feasibility studies, followup of the costs, post mortem analysis,
- Financial and Operational Controls
- Monitors that there is an effective and efficient system of internal controls including data integrity, asset protection, segregation of duties, financial reporting, information systems and adherence to group policies and governmental regulations.
- Stay close to the plant BP during internal/external audits to ensure corrective actions are implemented throughout the region.
- Reporting and analysis
- Review and consolidate plants financial forecasts, following group's guidelines.
- Communicates consolidated closing results effectively to management and nonfinancial personnel.
- Compiles indepth analysis on variances and action plan to remediate.
- Understand progress done on the Cost Performance Tracker process by each plant, acting as an enabler between plant teams and Group teams, working in close collaboration with CI.
- Drive the cost deployment methodology/HIPPO & Benchmark to identify potentials in plants
- Ensure the monthly tracking of all projects, in line with golden rules
- Accountable for the review of the standard costing implemented in SAP/BPC.
- Ensure alignment on method and timing regarding production cost calculation and other Industrial cost booking and forecasting.
- Driving regional profitability
- Drives a performance culture in operations with weekly follow up and understanding of variances + anticipating monthly results in the course of the month
- Support plant BP in leading actions in line with achieving targets & mitigating risk by providing coaching when needed and prioritizing resource needs of the region
- Provides insightful and competitive analytics that anticipate change and drive decision making at regional level
- Contributes to the Free Cash Flow with a specific focus on inventories management
- Cross-functional leadership and team contribution
- Work across organization boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve plant, division or group objectives, in particular ensure full coordination and sharing of information / best practice with regional and local finance and division business partners on topics like S&OP, Capex, reporting, PCO etc
- Shares best practices across division, i.e, process improvements, financial modelling and procedures changes.
- Escalates issues that could arise elsewhere in the network for collaborative implementation of solutions.
- Aligns teams and resources to solve problems and drive results.
- Provides support to team members at plant, division and group level, through the ownership of a Group process as Subject Matter Expert (SME)
- Plays a key role in the Safety leadership culture of the plant, leading by example and actively participating in all H&S initiatives at plant/company level.
- Leading and developing talent
- Creates an environment where talent is developed through effective performance management, talent evaluation systems and utilization of people.
- Invests in the growth and development of their direct reports and other identified talent in their organization.
- Actively prepare the Talent review of the region, identifying solid talents, implementing proper succession planning
- Ensures all team members have a meaningful personal development plan.
- Animates the network of plant BP in the region, creating a sense of belonging and team spirit by holding regular meetings & exchanges.
- Ensures teammates receive the needed trainings.
- Collaborates with peers to the harmonization of roles and responsibilities within the operations finance team.
