ENGLISH TEACHER(S) FOR PRIVATE AND GROUP COURSES TO ADULTS
Private lessons and classes in small groups of motivated adults (4-6 students), teaching in person at 1060 Saint-Gilles for Amira Language School asbl.

At Amira, we believe that being an inspiring and influential teacher is the first requirement for working with the school.
That's because we want the best teachers in Brussels available for our clients, teachers whose students follow them, which is, in our opinion, the most important criterion.
As we are recruiting English teachers from Ireland to work in Brussels, we will make sure for a start that you have 20 hours plus per week of courses.
Language teachers working full time in Brussels usually earn between 3000 € and 4000 € for a month of free-lance courses.
The typical cost of a studio or one-bedroom apartment is 800 € to 950 € / month.Add 200 € to 250 € per month for each extra bedroom if you are two people and need somewhere larger.
Our methods:
The approach we take to courses at the lower levels is known as 'Mastery Teaching', the principle of which is that everyone can learn easily if the course material is structured in short, well-presented sequences.
Overall, in each European half-level, we aim to cover a series of about 20-25 short real-life topics with a target of about words of new active vocabulary.
Participants are provided with relevant learning materials for each topic, which you the teacher present to them and review in different ways.
Then you guide the students so they can see for themselves what they have in fact learned, for example by means of an assessment of the particular topic.
In this way, students see directly and 'own' what they have newly studied. At regular intervals, you ask the the participants to look at the material again in a new way. Through this process of reinforcement, everyone develops confidence in using the language to be learned.The higher levels
You as teacher at Amira Language School
- You have at least three years' experience teaching English to adults.
- You animate your lessons with an attractive, dynamic and outgoing personal style.
- You make sure that your students have the time for practising their English in your lessons
- You as teacher speak English with a natural accent and the clearest articulation.
- You have an Irish passport with the right to work in the EU.
- You are ready to relocate to Brussels in August 2023 and start teaching in early September.
- You are already selfemployed and domiciled for tax purposes in Ireland and can therefore 'detach' to Belgium with an A1 form. Or if not, you can register when you arrive in Belgium as a 'travailleur indépendant'.
