Java Performance Testing Engineer

The Service Introduction Center (SIC) is responsible for ensuring the technical quality of software applications developed at Smals. The team specifically validates the performance and stability of applications before they go live. They also conduct tasks such as architecture reviews, incident analysis in the production environment, project support, technical training for teams, and development of supporting tools.
- As a Java Performance Testing Engineer, you play a crucial role in setting up the necessary tests and test environments to quickly identify any performance or stability issues in complex applications. You start with simpler applications to become familiar with the tools and techniques used.
- You implement tests using tools like JMeter or Gatling. If mock services or additional tools are required, you also develop those. Throughout this process, you receive support from experienced colleagues.
- You critically analyze the results with attention to detail.
- In case of issues identified during testing or in production, you conduct further research to determine the cause. By seeking support from colleagues, self-study, and training, you gradually build the technical knowledge required to handle this independently. You collaborate with the teams involved to resolve the issue.
- You provide oral and written reports on the test results and findings.
- You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferably in computer science) and have experience with Java/JEE technologies.
- You have knowledge of Java EE, EJB, JMS, Spring, Hibernate, JDBC.
- Proficiency in Python, Linux, Docker/Podman, Kubernetes/Openshift, JBoss, Enterprise Service Bus, or prior experience in Load Testing & Performance Tuning, are advantageous.
- Your strong communication skills enable you to advocate for your solutions and support developers in enhancing the performance, stability, and robustness of applications.
- You are results-oriented, proactive, and approach your tasks with efficiency and responsibility.
- Lastly, you have a passive knowledge of French.
