We are at the forefront of developing the next wave of intelligent, interconnected machines, emphasizing a seamless synergy between research and development and production. Vandewiele boasts a state-of-the-art production setup, catering to our entirely automated manufacturing process done in-house.

To fortify our team further, we are actively seeking a Technical Buyer:

Your Role

Depending on your experience and interests, you will oversee one of the following areas: mechanics/machining, electronics, drive and control technologies, assembly, raw materials, and fittings.

Here are some key responsibilities:

  • You initiate, negotiate, and finalize (framework) contracts with preferred suppliers.
  • You decipher order proposals from the ERP system and convert them into orders.
  • You collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure optimal service at negotiated costs.
  • You track open orders and deliveries to meet customer deadlines.
  • You regularly assess our supplier network and seek new opportunities, including evaluating and selecting new suppliers internationally.
  • You conduct market research to advise internal stakeholders.
  • You stay updated on new production techniques and engage with our R&D and production teams.
  • You handle customer inquiries varying from quality issues to invoice discrepancies.
  • You report to the Purchasing Manager.

Your Profile

  • You possess a Master's degree in Industrial Sciences focusing on Electromechanics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent through practical experience.
  • Experience in procurement within a technical setting is advantageous.
  • You exhibit a broad interest in both technical and commercial domains.
  • You are a skilled negotiator capable of reaching agreements assertively and effectively communicating.
  • You are proficient in French and English and willing to enhance your language skills. Knowledge of German is a bonus.
  • You are a team player but also adept at independent work.
  • You thrive under pressure, manage priorities effectively, and maintain a clear overview.
  • You are open to frequent visits to suppliers and international trade fairs.
