Welcome to the Team
In this position, you'll be joining a dynamic team tasked with overseeing a major investment initiative. This project involves expanding an existing plant and introducing new industrial capabilities for the G&T (Generation and Transmission) Business Group at Nexans.
The primary location for this role is in Charleroi, where the main investment project will be focused. However, there will also be travel involved to other European countries for various project-related activities.
Mission
- Lead the upgrade project for three of our factories (Charleroi, Erembodegem, and Calais) to facilitate the production and qualification of HVDC 525 KV cables and accessories with significant conductor cross-sections and extended lengths.
- Manage the industrial investment project from start to finish, overseeing resources, timelines, and budgets. Collaborate closely with local teams to ensure the smooth execution of the project.
- Monitor and supervise project activities, ensuring seamless coordination across all organizational levels.
- Identify and address any risks that could potentially hinder project success.
Project Management
- Define project objectives, work packages, teams, and timelines.
- Create a detailed project plan outlining key milestones, work streams, and activities.
- Develop a budget based on project requirements and oversee cost tracking.
- Supervise the project team and ensure adherence to company reporting procedures.
- Work alongside the project team to procure machines, materials, and resources in collaboration with local and purchasing teams.
- Minimize disruptions to current production and plant operations.
- Ensure operational compliance with corporate and legal standards.
- Prepare necessary documentation, including management plans, logistical solutions, and service schedules.
Change Management / People Development
- Participate in cross-functional projects that leverage department-specific expertise for enhanced success.
- Provide leadership to team members through motivation, coaching, and advocacy for their needs.
- Assign and schedule job responsibilities effectively.
- Act as a senior coach and mentor for change management initiatives.
