Product Portfolio Manager Baby:

Our people are our most valuable asset. To support and reinforce our Commercial team we are looking for a Product Portfolio Manager Baby.

Mission and Key Tasks:


The Product Portfolio Manager Baby is responsible for managing the finished product portfolio for the Product Category, centralizing all product information within Ontex with the goal to manage, reduce and prevent complexity.

The Product portfolio manager must liaise with and support various internal departments (Sales, Divisional Product Management, Procurement, Supply Chain, R&D, Quality, Sustainability) to ensure effective management and communication of product related projects (including raw material changes and implementations, innovation deployment etc)

Main responsibilities

  • Maintain and update global & market product configuration matrices, portfolio presentations and packaging standards
  • Responsible for the product portfolio architecture ensuring complexity management through phase in / phase out of product concepts and platform finding right balance between commercial and operational needs
  • Centralize all product information, and ensure effective communication of the finished product portfolio, including changes and updates to the organization (mainly sales and product managers at divisional and market level).
  • Support the new product creation process by defining standards (features, pack counts etc), and evaluating and challenging nonstandard requests (Omnitracker)
  • Develop and maintain the product catalogue for relevant categories for new SKUs with volumes below MPQ (Minimum production quantity)
  • Maintain and update cost configurators
  • Drive/Maintain complexity management programs: responsible for product standardization and rationalization
  • Responsible for tracking, communicating and implementing raw material projects and cost savings for the relevant category
  • Support internal departments and functions with product related questions and analyzing data
  • Assist on ad hoc specific divisional requests due to the nature of their request (f.e. cross divisional)
  • Assist the VP/Director Product Development Category with ad hoc requests when necessary
  • Support US division with ad hoc requests/tools etc.

Background and Experience:

  • Master degree or equivalent. Preferably 5 years relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Intimate knowledge with Product Category and its products is a big asset
  • Fluency in English, knowledge of other languages is an asset
  • PC literate, excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel)
  • SAP and BI knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to work efficiently with data (spreadsheets, database, computer skills): analyze data and trends.
  • Ability to learn, have an open mind towards Analysis and Problem solving and a certain technical affinity/insight.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changed requests/markets/ideas being flexible
  • Ability to draw on learnings to be reapplied in different situations
  • Ability to participate in multifunctional teams, and to support/contribute to projects.
  • Interpersonal, communication and influencing skills to build and maintain relationships internally
  • Able to organize, prioritize and structure work with an appetite to deal with several complex projects, but keeping a strong attention to detail
