We zoeken naar een jonge medewerker met een bachelor in laboratoriumtechnologie, of gelijkwaardig door ervaring, en interesse in (bio)technologische apparatuur. Ervaring in moleculair biologische technieken en/of histologische analyses zijn een pluspunt, maar we voorzien hoe dan ook de nodige opleidingen.
Belangrijke kenmerken die je moet hebben:
- Autonoom, maar ook sociaal ingesteld met goede interpersoonlijke en communicatieve vaardigheden
- Creatief in het oplossen van problemen met complexe apparatuur
- Nauwkeurig en gericht op resultaten
- Punctueel en sterk in het plannen van complexe schema's
- Vaardig in basis computertaken, zoals tekstverwerking en spreadsheetanalyses
- Bereidheid om getraind te worden in verschillende multiplex methoden
- Nieuwsgierig en altijd bereid om bij te leren
- Verantwoordelijk en proactief om onderzoeksomstandigheden te verbeteren
- Vloeiend in Engels voor dagelijkse werkgerelateerde communicatie
- Capabel om bij te dragen aan de algemene laborganisatie en consistent toegewijd te zijn aan herhalende taken
In deze rol word je ingezet binnen de histologie kernfaciliteit om de multiplex methode te implementeren, te coördineren en te verbeteren.
Specifieke taken omvatten onder andere:
- Gebruik en toezicht op automatische kleurrobots voor immunohistochemische kleuringen
- Gebruik en toezicht op automatische microscopen voor het digitaliseren van weefselmonsters
- Voorbereiden van monsters voor histologische analyse, zoals het maken van weefelsneden en tissue microarrays
- Uitvoeren van histologische kleuringen, voornamelijk fluorescentie-gebaseerd, en het bieden van ondersteuning aan onderzoekers en klanten
- Ondersteuning van verschillende experimenten in samenwerking met onderzoekers
- Ondersteuning van routine-opdrachten van de histologie kernfaciliteit
- Onderhouden van collecties, protocollen en elektronische labnotities, en het beheren van productenvoorraad
- Samenwerken met vertegenwoordigers, leveranciers en het handhaven van lab- en bioveiligheidsregels
Je voert zelfstandig experimenten uit, toont verantwoordelijkheid en kritisch denken, en bespreekt regelmatig resultaten met het team.
Ondersteun de vooruitgang van geavanceerde pathologie door de kracht van single-cell technologie te benutten voor precisiegeneeskunde. Als onderdeel van LISCO en de afdeling Translationeel Cel- en Weefselonderzoek, bieden we geavanceerde pathologische diensten aan diverse onderzoeksgroepen en bedrijven. We zijn op zoek naar een gemotiveerde laboratoriumtechnoloog om ons team te versterken in deze geavanceerde analyses.
We bieden een fulltime positie bij KU Leuven in een stimulerende onderzoeksomgeving, waar je samenwerkt met onderzoekers en technisch personeel.
De intentie is om de 'MILAN' methode te centraliseren en aan te bieden aan derden, waardoor je de kans krijgt om een sleutelfiguur te worden in deze ontwikkelingen en erin te groeien.
Er is mogelijkheid tot contractverlenging na het eerste jaar, afhankelijk van evaluatie. Start je direct met alle taken, dan wordt je ingeschaald in graad 5. Voor beloftevolle kandidaten die extra opleiding nodig hebben, begint de functie in graad 4.
