Summary

The capacity of Belgian wind farms is expected to significantly increase in the upcoming years. A new offshore wind zone, known as the Princess Elisabeth zone, is in the planning stages off the Belgian coast. To transmit this energy to land, an energy hub is being constructed as an island more than 40 km off the coast. This island, named Princess Elisabeth Island, will accommodate the necessary electrical components to transfer energy from the offshore wind farms to the mainland. It will be the first energy island globally, making it a pioneering project. As a Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) engineer, you will play a crucial role in defining policies, procedures, and QA/QC standards for the Belgian Energy Island project.

Your responsibilities

  • You will assist the QA-QC manager in implementing the project management system
  • Collaborate with operations to create a QA/QC project plan
  • Establish quality procedures, including inspection timeframes and testing requirements
  • Maintain QA/QC documents for the entire project, such as certificates, test results, and inspection reports
  • Ensure closure of non-conformance reports and site instructions
  • Primary work location: Vlissingen

Your profile

  • Qualified civil or industrial engineer, ideally with construction or marine experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in QA-QC, project management in civil or marine projects
  • Passionate about engineering, process management, and civil works execution
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in spoken and written English, Dutch knowledge is a plus
