As Narrative Designer, you will be tasked with designing portrayals of world history through campaign and scenario content for Age of Empires II.


Your responsibilities include:

  • Using game mechanics and narrative structures to create compelling and immersive experiences
  • Brainstorm, pitch ideas, receive and provide feedback, iterate on concepts and designs
  • Write intriguing storylines that reflect world history and historical figures
  • Collaborate with creative and engineering teams to construct narrative systems to create compelling gameplay
  • Balance creative vision with technical constraints to create engaging and rewarding experiences
  • Deliver a narrative experience that stay trues to the Age of Empires II gaming experience
  • Professional experience as a designer or in a narrative capacity in the games industry
  • Strong understanding for portraying narrative through game mechanics and systems
  • Familiarity with game production pipelines
  • Strong research and documentation skills
  • A love of history
  • Strong command of the English language (written and spoken)

Compensation

CaptureAge is a company that grew out of the Age of Empires community and is now partnered with Microsoft / XBox Game Studios to provide game development services in AAA titles like Age of Empires II and Age of Empires IV.
