Function

In this role you will have a combined function. After a thorough trader training you will be responsible for the buying and selling of "trim".

This is the collective name for the residues of polyurethane soft foam that are released during the cutting of blocks into all kinds of products such as mattresses, parts for furniture, packaging, etc.

In addition, you will manage and expand an existing customer portfolio in Europe.

You are responsible for the purchase and sales processes of trim, with support from the inside sales team for the administrative side (e.g. requesting rates from suppliers, organizing transport, etc.).

Through immediate on-the-job training you will be introduced to the market, get to know suppliers and customers worldwide better and get more responsibility in the whole process


Based on your growing market and product knowledge, you negotiate correct prices with suppliers and look for permanent sales opportunities with customers.


You follow the market closely and by participating in trade fairs and visiting customers and suppliers you delve even deeper into the world of trim trading.

You prospect both new customers and suppliers to match supply and demand as closely as possible.


For about 20% of your time you are responsible for the sales of Rebond Foam Blocks and Plates to an existing customer portfolio in Europe.


You continuously keep up to date with the evolutions and developments in the market, for example regarding chemical recycling, so that you can advise the organization as a whole in function of future developments.

Profile


You have a Master level of thinking and working and thanks to a good learning ability you are able to quickly understand new material.

You have at least 5 years of successful experience in B2B sales of e.g. commodities, chemicals, plastics,...


Because of the many international contacts, you have strong language skills: knowledge of Dutch, English, German and/or French is necessary.


You will travel about 30 to 40% of your time (mainly within Europe); some flexibility and an international mind-set are important to feel comfortable in this role.

We look for a mature personality with strong communication skills who is comfortable negotiating with both customers and suppliers


You are ambitious and show a strong motivation and willingness to learn to grow to take on the trim trade role fully independently.
