Luminus is one of the key players in the Belgian energy sector working towards decarbonation and a CO2 free belgian society.

Within this scope, we are looking for super engaged, enthousiastic, open minded and experienced profiles willing to challenge the conventional and develop new businesses in Belgium.


He or she will be working within the Strategy, Innovation, Business development and CSR department which is in charge of providing strategic directions, fostering innovation, developing businesses and steering transformation and sustainability performance.

Under the direct management of the Chier Strategy, Innovation, Business development and CSR Officer, the Senior Business development will have the responsibility of:

  • developing new activites in various areas such as; flexibility, batteries, B2B and B2G decarbonation offers, e-mobility and public charging, home energy solutions
- leading a transversal Luminus Transformation initiative.


The role represents an exciting opportunity to work on one of todays mos relevant societal problems, with great autonomy and with the perspective of becoming the lead and main contact person for the projects/businesses once these become viable.


Responsabilities

On business development side:
- assess business potential to determine technical and economic feasibility for Luminus
- propose towards and co-ordinate with the business on how to organise new developments and propose a specific mandate:

  • support the business in new developments which are close to their core
- take the lead for selected business ideas and new technologies
- develop business plans and models for new projects and business lines
- search for (innovative) financing solutions from private or public actors
- test the market to understand clients' needs/requests and to offer them innovative solutions
- test and validate assumptions through Proof-of
  • Concepts and pilot projects
- develop expertise on the topics within our scope and keep an open view for new potential projects, technologies or business linesprovide feedback and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders on new business lines solutions and projects

  • On the transformation side:
  • Lead a strategic initiative which have a crosscompany impact by bringing together a team around a shared plan of approach and secure execution
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team with a cross company reach for large projects or strategic initiatives
  • Be the chair of steering committees with Clevel representatives
Indicatively, business development-related work will account for 60-70% of the working time, and transformation work for 20-30%
Travel within Belgium would be required to visit other sites, affialiates, public events,

SKILL BASE:

  • Excellent writing and communication skills (EN and FR or NL)
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Good listening and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to conduct independent research and elaborate a sound business strategy
  • Time management skills
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to identify potential leads
  • Ability to communicate with managers, directors, Vice Presidents, Chief Officers
  • Create company intro and pitch for service or product demo
  • Do cold calling towards, institutions, interested parties, stakeholders, potential clients
  • Continuous followups with multiple collaborators
  • Ability to prepare PPT for clients
  • Knowledge of sales management, marketing, strategic management, and business planning

Background:

  • A commercial/industrial/civil Engineer or equivalent Master studies
  • Knowhow of the energy sector is a plus
  • At least perfectly fluent in 2 languages either French/English or Dutch/English. Ideally fluent in all tree languages FR/NL/ENG
