As a Room Divisions manager, you will report to our General Manager.
As his direct report, you will:
- Be responsible for the management and coordination of all Rooms area departments (Front Office Housekeeping department):
- Drive a great working environment for teams to thrive connect departments to create sense of unity, improve employee satisfaction.
- Ensure that regular, ongoing communication is happening in the Rooms division (e.g., preshift briefings, staff meetings).
- Direct everyday activity, plan and assign work ensuring that the right staffing numbers are in place
- Makes suggestions as to how the total operation can be improved.
- Plan, develop and evaluates the quality of the guest rooms
- Ensure that guest satisfaction data is analysed, plans are developed and implemented to achieve established goals
- Strive to continually improve guest satisfaction
- Maximize the financial performance of the department
- Ensures that standards and procedures are being followed
- The position ensures that the rooms meet the brand's standards,
- Target customer needs and focuses on growing revenues
- Develop and maintain great working relationships with key clients in house to increase satisfaction and revenue.
- Provide guests with hotel and local information to enhance their experience
- Assume overall accountability for the team and the hotel in the absence of the General Manager
- Maintain excellent communications with the other departments to ensure excellent service towards the guests during their entire stay
- Act as a central communication point during emergency/crisis situations; develop and maintain relationships with local emergency personnel
- Perform Duty Management tasks as required
Based in the Marriott hotel in Ghent, you will be part of a family of passionate people who know that being the best doesn't always mean working around the clock.
To be successful in this role you have a:
- Successful track record in hospitality sector within multiple operational areas.
- Successful track record of managing at HOD level
- European Language Skills including fluent knowledge of Dutch and English are essential
- Experience within a major global brand is preferred
- Experience in relationship management with multiple stakeholders
- Experience of working within a structured team environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate and engage effectively at all levels
- Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines
