key responsibilities

TheProject Engineering Leader:


• Responsible formanaging large strategic projects, ensuring a smooth project design &execution by leading and coordinating multiple functions, managing, and mitigating risks,cost & schedule,communicating project progress, issues, and solutionsto management and stakeholders.


• Coordinate a team ofUCB engineers and/or from an engineeringcompany during projects design & execution.


• Coordinate all technical activities and planning for execution of a project.


• Havea broad knowledge of the infrastructure/building/civil engineering and HVAC system but also have a larger understanding of all related disciplines to challenge/review globallyand identify potential issues.


• Isalso person of reference of overall projectactivities – cost,schedule, quality, risk mgmt, Gate mgnt, ...


• Project point of contactwith management, businessclients, external or engineering companiesand technical team


• Alignment with global standards– technical, green, safety, GMP, ...

The Project Engineering Leader has strongtechnical skills, a proven leadership and the abilityto deal with complexity

Major Accountabilities :

The ProjectEngineering Leader ensuresprojects are successful by taking full responsibility for:

· Partnering with engineering firms to ensure proper supportin delivering the project designs& execution.

· Have a relevant experience inEngineering works (PM role) but also in lab activities/equipment's (GxP rules)

· Able to manage projectin EPCMV model.

· EHS- Provide and maintain excellence for design, construction methods and executionthat delivers the companies ambitions on safety andsustainability.

· Working with our BusinessPartner to define the best solution to meet customerneeds.

· Managing quality, cost and planning for all engineering projects activities

· Managing Basic / Detaileddesign and execution

· (Ensuring technical resources identified without gaps nor overlap)

· Handling project governance, budgetcontrolling in accordance with PMO requirements

· Consolidating and reviewing specifications (e.g. URS, Technical Specifications)

· Ensuring strong communication with stakeholders and team project

· Supporting the communication structures for full collaboration between all partiesinvolved in engineering projects to ensure two-waycommunication, engagement and collaboration.

Dealing project engineering package of medium to high complexity

qualifications

· ability to take initiative and work both independently and in a team environment.

· experience in (complex) projects
· both formal and informal leadership / coordination
· experience with deployment of EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) and EPCM (Engineering, Procurement andConstruction Management) contracting models.
· manages with a matrix of reporting linesand across functional areas.
· ability to share good practicesand knowledge.
· excellent communication skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
· Leadership experience for the management of internal and external resources
· ability to apply previous learningand ideas to new situations, projects and teams,developing creative solutionsto manage risk to a reasonably practicable level.
· strong technical, interpersonal and leadership skills.
· be responsible for delivering the overall engineering package from conceptto handover.
· able to translatecustomers' needs in technical requirements.

full professional proficiency in French and English(both oral and written)
Minimum 5 to 10 years of engineering experience in investment projects in the infrastructure/buildingfield

In-depth technical experience in a highly regulated environment
