International manufacturing organization active in the food industry with different local European entities. The Belgian company (SME sized) is market leader in its niche field and the ambition is to double the business within the next 5 years.
Job Description
The Site Director is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve costs, quality and quantity in teamwork and improve a constructive environment. One of the main objectives is to research and implement innovative methods for production processes as well as to apply lean manufacturing principles.
Manage all production activities regarding quantity, quality, costs, maintenance, logistics, supply, etc.Define and implement the strategic 5-year plan regarding the plant.Coordinate and align production and staff planning.Establish and monitor KPI's concerning production, quality, and finances.Execute and manage investment projects (capex).Prepare and follow up on budgets, manage operational expenses, and investigate cost-saving measures.Co-develop and implement an HR policy.Develop a safety and sustainability policy.Point of contact for local authorities and stakeholders. The Successful ApplicantIdeally this person combines operational approach with strategic capacity to lead a constructive turnaround with focus on process improvement. Further the Site Director has:
At least 10 years similar working experience within an international organization.Experience in strategic realignment, project management, leading international projects, and sourcing raw materials.Extensive experience in plant activities or engineering, preferably in the (fresh) food sector.Operational and technical background, both strategic and operational.Familiar with matrix organizations and lean manufacturing concepts.Experience in leading teams and managing budgets.Ability to manage change and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.Strong financial and commercial affinity.Entrepreneurial mindset.Clear and direct communication skills and able to communicate at all levels of the group.Results and solutions oriented.Fluent in French and English, Dutch is a plus.
