Data Governance & Privacy (DG&P) Role
The Data Governance & Privacy (DG&P) team within the Data department is responsible for policies and processes for data management that enable effective control of it (compliance, quality, documentation, etc.). This team also ensures the implementation of legal requirements related to privacy protection and artificial intelligence. In this context, the team acts as an intermediary between various functions (Architecture, Compliance, Security, IT, etc.) and all business activities.
Key activities include:
- Establishing processes and policies ensuring good data management according to the standards of the AXA Group
- Establishing processes and policies ensuring compliance with legal obligations (e.g. GDPR)
- Structured and unstructured data
- Collaboration with Security, Architecture, IT teams
- Collaboration with and support to various Business teams responsible for implementing established processes
- Communicating with various management levels and corporate governance bodies
- Operational implementation of Internal Control and Operational Risks programs in the Data field
- In accordance with local and Group policies, the team contributes to the implementation of AXA's global strategy.
Your Responsibilities as Data Management Senior Lead
Under the supervision of the Chief Data Officer and the Manager Data Governance & Privacy, you will strengthen the Data Governance & Privacy team with your experience and specific skills. Your tasks include:
- Defining and implementing principles, policies, standards, and guidelines for data management and protection
- Leading initiatives/projects as a project manager contributing to the improvement of our operations and coordinating the associated project team
- Acting as an expert within the organization and bridging connections with other departments
- Coordinating Data Management initiatives required by the Group or European and Belgian regulations (Solvency II, IFRS 17, GDPR, etc.)
- Coordinating specific activities of the team in the areas of data management and data protection: data quality, data lineage, business glossary, data classification, register of processing activities, and data access management
- Coordinating governance and animation with the Business via community management
- Contributing to Data Governance compliance in transformation programs and other digital initiatives
- Guiding the Business in the correct application of established rules and processes
- Contributing to the development of the data strategy in line with Group standards and local policies
Your Profile
- Minimum of 5 years experience in data management roles in an operational or financial context
- Minimum of 3 years experience in project management
- Good understanding of various regulations (especially GDPR) and their impact on data
- Ability to conceptualize complex issues to arrive at concrete and pragmatic proposals and decisions
- Ability to coordinate transversal topics with a large number of stakeholders
- Proficiency in English and excellent proficiency in French and/or Dutch
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Good presentation skills, ability to determine and convey key messages
- Good affinity with technology and experience in using data management tools (e.g. reporting, O365, data management)
- Customer-oriented, proactive, and solution-oriented
- Resilient and capable of meeting ambitious deadlines
