Customs Specialist

Do you excel in your knowledge of Customs & Excise? Do you consider yourself as a true specialist, able to manage compliance with Customs, Excise and Trade rules and regulations throughout the value chain?

Then you might be our new colleague in our production plant Beringen responsible for this matter in our locations in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Here 's a grasp of your main responsibilities:

• Central point of contact in Customs, Excise and Trade compliance matters in Belgium and the Netherlands. (internal customers/ stakeholders are e.g. Dispatch & Logistics, Sales & Procurement, Legal, Product Management, etc.) as well as for Customs and Foreign Trade Authorities in Belgium and the Netherlands.

• Manage the Preferential Origin Process (calculation, legal support, monitoring)

• Follow-up of the administration of licenses of local Borealis entities and Borealis AG in Belgium and the Netherlands. and renew if necessary. Handle Customs and Foreign Trade audits in Belgium and the Netherlands.

• Monitor the Automised Economic Operator-status: prepare AEO-documentation and provide updated information towards the local customs authorities in the yearly review for Belgium and the Netherlands.

• Actively monitor legal developments, informs the organization, and implements changes if applicable

Do you match with this profile?

Bachelor degree in Business Administration or equivalent education/working experience in a logistics company , Customs specialist certification or similar post-graduate qualification.

• Automised Economic Operator (AEO) experience is an added value

• Fluent in English, Dutch, written and spoken at business level is a "hard" must, other relevant languages are an advantage

• Minimum 6 years of experience in Customs & Excise is a must have. Experience in Export Control matters from either a large corporation or consultancy (or combined) is a nice to have

• Solid relevant SAP know-how and Basic VAT Know-How

• Flexible mindset in traveling to our Belgian/Dutch locations 1/ month.
