Project Overview:

GO4ZERO is our ambitious initiative aimed at significantly reducing our environmental footprint of clinker production through innovative and sustainable practices. As part of this initiative, the Quarry project focuses on the transition of clinker production at Obourg from a "wet process" using chalk to a "dry process" using limestone. This switch involves the extraction and processing of limestone, rich in calcium carbonate, from our deposits on both banks of the Escaut River, spanning the municipalities of Antoing and Tournai (Belgium). The processed limestone will be transported from Vaulx (Tournai) to Obourg by train. Significant infrastructure developments, including railway connections and upgrades, have already been undertaken in the Tournaisis region, specifically in Vaulx. This project represents an investment up to 50 million euros, encompassing limestone crushing, transfer to an intermediate storage area, and loading into trains.

Role Description:

We are seeking a QA/QC Engineer to join our GO4ZERO project team on a consulting or freelance basis for a 12-month mission. This role is crucial for the engineering phase and the execution phase of the Quarry package, involving extensive infrastructure and construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and implementing quality system aspects related to Vaulx and Obourg projects. This profile will deal with the quality system such as documentary aspect, quality audit missions, compliance with procedures, quality control part, in the workshop, before shipment, after unloading and on-site control of the equipment but also the installations at site. The main mission is to ensure the establishment of a quality system for GO4ZERO projects

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervises the Quality Control functions/activities of a project including Quality Control inspection schedules and the collection of Quality Records.
• Supports the Construction Manager in dealing with the Client for all the Quality matters.
• Assesses the implementation of the Quality Plan and Quality Control Plans on the site.
• Allocates Quality Control personnel to the various areas of site activity.
• Supervises inspections, reports and the documentation issued by inspectors and collect and file the required Quality Records.
• Evaluates the qualifications of welders and Non Destructive Test-NDT technicians with regard to the activities assigned.
• Evaluates the qualifications of inspection personnel.
• Supports the construction roles in the management and control of subcontractors.
• Supports and participate to all the internal/external audits.
• Supports the Welding & Non Destructive Test-NDT qualification activities.
• Cooperates to issue the Welding Procedures (WP).
• Analyses of non conformities.
• Supervises inspection of defect renewal and welding.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Four Years Full time)
• Minimum 15 years of experience in QA/QC.
• At least 5 years of experience in managing large value EPC Projects
• Experience in developing and reviewing project quality plans, contract documents and project specifications
• Coordinate Test Pack preparation and Final Handover documentation activities to ensure smooth handover.
• Conduct and organize QMS Internal/External audit and ensure close out of all Inspection and Audit Non conformities
