You have a PhD in Engineering Sciences or Engineering TechnologyYou have experience as a (post-)doctoral researcher, especially within the domain of jointing techniques and/or structural optimization of assembly of compositesYou have experience with or want to become proficient in writing projects and obtaining funding (bilateral, regional, European)You have excellent communication skills (written and spoken) in both English and DutchYuo have already gained initial experience in providing lab or exercise sessions in the field of materials science or control engineering and you have experience in supervising bachelor's and master's thesesFurther expansion of the activities of the research groups in mechanical engineering at Bruges Campus, in close cooperation with professors and researchers from the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Heverlee).
Valorization of research activities within the M-Group and exploration of links with other research activities on the faculty's campus(es).
Providing support for both government-funded projects and bilateral projects with industry and taking initiatives in this respect. 
Support in education by giving lectures, assisting in lab and practice sessions and supervising master's thesesDeveloping the mechanics labs of Bruges CampusAt KU Leuven Bruges Campus, the M-Group is a multi-disciplinary team that carries out research and industrial projects on machines and mechatronics. Part of this team works on mechanical structures and mechanical engineering. Another part works on mechatronics and controlled systems. The M-Group has a lot of infrastructure for testing, monitoring and signal processing. In addition, numerous software tools are available for system modelling and evaluation. We offer a full-time (100 %) position as doctor-assistant for 6 months; starting date to be agreed upon.
