The Research Centre for Information Systems Engineering (LIRIS) at the Faculty of Economics and Business, KU Leuven, is hiring a postdoctoral researcher in the domain of process analytics. The position is offered in the context of a broader research proposal on predictive process monitoring with a focus on (among others) process model forecasting and process- and event log-wide feature engineering for predictive and prescriptive purposes. Candidates ideally have recently obtained their PhD in the wider area of process mining and machine learning with a focus on building predictive and/or prescriptive models using state-of-the-art models including deep learning models such as LSTMs, GNNs, GANs, and reinforcement learning algorithms. This position offers candidates an opportunity to further develop their research skills within the context of the project but does also allow the candidate to keep on developing their own research lines given there is a fit with the overarching topic. We offer a fulltime employment as a postdoctoral researcher on a one-year contract which can be extended (per year for no longer than 2 years in total) after a positive evaluation. You will work under the supervision of Prof. Johannes De Smedt and Prof. Jochen De Weerdt.
You will be located at the Research Centre for Information Systems Engineering (LIRIS) of KU Leuven (Leuven, Belgium). You will find a dynamic and pleasant working environment in this research group that is actively involved in scientific research at the highest international level in different domains such as business intelligence, data mining, process mining, conceptual modelling, model-driven engineering, and smart learning environments. Research projects in these domains are focusing both on fundamental research as on applied research.
