Gewenste vereisten:Ervaring met eencellige en ruimtelijke OMICS-gegevensanalyse.Ontwikkeling van ShinyApps en ervaring met grootschalig datasetbeheer.Kennis van kankerbiologie.De primaire focus van deze rol is om dieper in te gaan op de moleculaire mechanismen die intra-tumor heterogeniteit, plasticiteit en therapieresistentie aandrijven.Hierbij is een gegronde kennis van programmeertalen zoals Python en/of R vereist, evenals ervaring met het werken met high-performance computing clusters.Wij zijn opzoek naar een teamspeler en iemand die nauw wilt samenwerken met andere bio-informatici, maar ook met kankercel- en moleculairbiologen, clinici en pathologen.VIB is een ondernemend en levendig non-profit onderzoekscentrum in Vlaanderen met een duidelijke focus op baanbrekend onderzoek in biomedische wetenschappen. Ongeveer 1500 wetenschappers en techniekers van 60 verschillende landen werken aan de 5 Vlaamse universiteiten van Gent, Leuven, Antwerpen, Brussel en Hasselt, en bestuderen de verschillende moleculaire mechanismen die de functie van het menselijk lichaam, planten en micro-organismen regelt. Het VIB-KU Leuven Centrum voor Kankerbiologie (CCB), gelegen op de Campus Gasthuisberg van de KU Leuven, draagt bij aan een betere kennis van de biologie dat bijdraagt aan kankerinitiatie, -progressie en metastasering met als doel meer effectieve en specifieke kankerbehandelingen te ontwikkelen. Het CCB bestaat momenteel uit meer dan 240 wetenschappers in 11 verschillende onderzoeksgroepen, die de verschillende kenmerken van tumoren en hun micro-omgeving (e.g. inflammatie, metabolisme, genetische en epigenetische controle) onderzoeken. CCB stimuleert een interdisciplinaire omgeving en een nauwe samenwerking met het Leuvense Kankerinstituut (LKI) en het UZ Leuven, die zich bevinden op dezelfde campus, om translationeel onderzoek te bevorderen. Het Chris Marine-lab situeert zich binnen het CCB en is actief op zoek naar een ervaren bio-informaticus met ervaring in het analyseren en integreren van single-cell en ruimtelijke multi-omics datasets.De primaire focus van deze rol is om dieper in te gaan op de moleculaire mechanismen die intra-tumor heterogeniteit, plasticiteit en therapieresistentie aandrijven.Toegang tot reeds gegenereerde grote en unieke datasets.Een voltijds contract voor een jaar met mogelijkheid tot verlenging.Hybride werkoptie.Kans om een betekenisvolle bijdrage te leveren aan genetisch en oncologisch onderzoek in een dynamisch team.Mogelijkheid om te werken aan wetenschappelijk belangrijke en impactvolle projecten.Stimulerende onderzoeksomgeving. Gelegen op 20 minuten van Brussel, biedt de Universiteit van Leuven een centrale Europese locatie in de levendige stad Leuven, bekend om haar innovatie.
