The client, the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity, represents 43 electricity transmission system operators (TSOs) from 36 countries across Europe. The client was established and given legal mandates by the EU’s Third Legislative Package for the Internal Energy Market in 2009, which aims at further liberalizing the gas and electricity markets in the EU.
The role of Transmission System Operators has considerably evolved with the Third Energy Package. Due to unbundling and the liberalization of the energy market, TSOs have become the meeting place for the various players to interact on the marketplace.
The Client's Objectives
The client’s members share the objective of setting up the internal energy market and ensuring its optimal functioning, and of supporting the ambitious European energy and climate agenda. One of the important issues on today’s agenda is the integration of a high degree of renewables in Europe’s energy system, the development of consecutive flexibility, and a much more customer-centric approach than in the past.
The client is committed to developing the most suitable responses to the challenge of a changing power system while maintaining security of supply. Innovation, a market-based approach, customer focus, stakeholder focus, security of supply, flexibility, and regional cooperation are key to the client’s agenda.
Functieomschrijving
- Prepare the important timelines for the Board and Assembly meetings, ensuring sufficient time allocation to deliver all preparatory milestones based upon set deadlines.
- Ensure the Board and Assembly meetings, agenda, ‘session files’ (briefing materials), presentations and minutes are prepared and coordinated to high standards and in a timely and efficient manner, in line with the established guidance.
- Undertake strict quality control and proof-reading of important documentation for the decision-making bodies; ensure high level of all written materials.
- Be an effective coordinator and communicator, establishing good contacts with all those involved in the session file preparation, both across the Secretariat (Secretary General, Heads of Sections, Managers, Experts and Specialists) and amongst office holders and their teams.
- Maintain Board and Assembly distribution lists of, keeping abreast of changes.
- Maintain Board and Assembly SharePoint sites.
- Responsible for logistics of Board/Assembly meetings (in person and online).
- Coordinate written voting procedures.
- Ensure adherence to procurement and contract management.
Profiel
- University degree with about 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in an international or European association.
- Strong project management, organisation and planning skills.
- Proficient IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe), with knowledge of SharePoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with a strong eye for detail.
- Ability to prioritise and juggle multiple complex projects/tasks simultaneously, without sacrificing quality.
- Experience organising events/high-level meetings and/or working with Board- or C-level executives/senior management is a plus.
- A solution-finder, who is proactive and flexible, with a service-oriented attitude.
- You are diplomatic with an ability to create trust.
- You thrive in a multinational and multicultural professional environment.
- Between 3000 - 3900 euro gross per month
- Reimbursement of mobility
- Meal vouchers
- The role is based in Brussels, with occasional travel expected to member TSOs to support Board and Assembly meetings
- Until end of Dec minimum, can be extended
