Onze belangrijkste peilers en uitdagingen zijn: klimaatverandering, duurzame oplossingen voor ontmanteling en afvalbeheer, strijd tegen kanker. Functieomschrijving De expertisegroep Impact and Site Remediation bestaat uit twee eenheden, namelijk:
* Biosphere Impact Studies (BIS)
* Crisis Management and Decision Support (CMD)

De expertisegroep Impact and Site Remediation:
* is verantwoordelijk voor de ontwikkeling van innovatieve multidisciplinaire oplossingen voor de sanering van besmette sites (radiologische en/of chemische besmetting)
* is verantwoordelijk voor studies naar de radiologische impact op mens en milieu, met name in het kader van vergunningsaanvragen voor nieuwe nucleaire installaties, of studies naar de voorwaardelijke vrijgave van afval
* voert projecten uit om personen en het milieu te beschermen tegen de effecten van ioniserende straling
* voert projecten uit om safeguards in te bouwen, alsook projecten en opleidingen voor inspecties van nucleaire sites
* draagt met haar teams bij aan oefeningen in het kader van rampenplannen (ondersteuning van de Belgische staat)
* neemt actief deel aan internationale onderzoeksprogramma's

Het hoofd van de expertisegroep Impact and Site Remediation is verantwoordelijk voor het wetenschappelijk, technisch, financieel en administratief beheer van de expertisegroep. Het hoofd van de groep heeft als opdracht:
* de expertisegroep te versterken en te ontwikkelen zodat de groep een in België en internationaal erkend referentiecentrum wordt voor de sanering van radiologisch en/of chemisch besmette sites
* de acties tussen de verschillende expertisegroepen van SCK CEN te coördineren om innovatieve en doeltreffende oplossingen te bieden voor de sanering van besmette sites, in het bijzonder voor de Umicore-site (radiumafval), met als doel een belangrijke speler te worden bij de ontwikkeling van een oplossing voor de berging van dit afval
* innovatieve oplossingen te ontwikkelen om NORM-afval te valoriseren
* te zorgen voor het operationele en functionele beheer van de expertisegroep
* de vaardigheden van de expertisegroep inzake sanering van sites te ontwikkelen
* ervoor te zorgen dat de vaardigheden inzake safeguards en het beheer van rampenplannen op peil blijven Profiel * je hebt een universitair diploma (master of doctoraat), bij voorkeur in techniek (bio-ingenieur), toegepaste wetenschap of wetenschap
* je hebt uitgebreide kennis van sanering van besmette sites en NORM-afval
* je bent in staat om met verschillende partners te communiceren en projecten effectief te promoten
* je hebt aantoonbare ervaring in teamcoördinatie
* je beschikt over goede organisatorische, communicatie- en leiderschapsvaardigheden
* je hebt een positieve en kritische instelling
* je beschikt over een goede talenkennis (NL, FR, EN)
