Senior Cloud Native Development Engineer – .NET & Azure
Leuven, Belgium | Freelance / Contract | Banking Industry
We're looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Native Development Engineer to support the cloud transformation and DevOps enablement for a leading player in the banking industry. This is a long-term freelance assignment, on-site in Belgium (hybrid possible), starting May 2025.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop cloud-native applications using modern architectures and tools.
- Build, extend, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise Cloud.
- Manage Azure DevOps environments and agent pools.
- Maintain reusable .NET development assets, templates, and documentation.
- Collaborate with the .NET Competence Center and Public Cloud team to enforce development standards and architecture guidelines.
Requirements
Must-Have Experience:
- 5+ years in cloud software development (.NET/.NET Core)
- Strong background in CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and infrastructure as code (ARM/BICEP)
- Proficient with tools and technologies such as:
- Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitHub Actions
- C#, .NET 8+, TypeScript, REST APIs
- Visual Studio, VS Code, YAML, NuGet, NPM
- Azure Services: App Service, Key Vault, Storage Accounts
- Familiarity with Clean Architecture principles
- Agile mindset and strong analytical skills
Nice to Have:
- Certification in AZ-204 and/or AZ-400
- Experience with tools like SonarQube, Mend, Nexus
Context
You'll join the .NET Competence Center within the IT department of a prominent bank, where you'll play a crucial role in the migration of legacy systems to Azure cloud and support internal development teams with reusable tooling and best practices.
