Job Description:
Description of the Tasks
As a Product Owner, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Working within the agile process and acting as the final authority on decisions related to priority, business value, and functionality of the work done by the development team.
- Supervising business analysts and ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Possessing a comprehensive understanding of the project's goals and objectives.
- Interacting with the business to validate requirements.
- Proposing solutions by integrating IT tools with business process refactoring or improvements.
- Creating, maintaining, prioritizing, and sequencing the product backlog based on business value or return on investment.
- Defining user stories and acceptance tests granular enough for individual sprints.
- Participating in project planning, daily SCRUM meetings, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos, and other Scrum-related activities.
- Reviewing deliverable product versions and ensuring alignment with goals after each sprint.
- Organizing live demonstrations of the product after sprints.
- Facilitating the acceptance of the product by the business.
- Establishing and maintaining standards for testing.
- Providing progress reporting and enhancing transparency and communication.
- Assisting with prioritization and resolution of defects/bugs.
- Performing the role of Scrum Master when required.
Knowledge and Skills
Technical Knowledge:
- Experience with large, enterprise-level multi-user systems and associated technologies.
- Expertise in Agile methodology and electronic document management tools (e.g., Documentum).
- Proficiency with tools in the agile toolbox (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, BigPicture, Gliffy, Balsamiq, etc.).
- Good understanding of:
- Application Management Lifecycle.
- Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
- Applications design and modelling tools.
- Enterprise Architecture.
- Relational DBMS.
- Business process analysis.
- Interoperability technology (e.g., web services, middleware, service buses).
Soft Skills:
- Strong redaction and documentation skills.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technologies in application architecture and design.
Specific Expertise:
Minimum 5 years of experience with electronic document management tools.
- At least 5 years of expertise in Java SE/EE.
- Proven 5+ years of experience with SOAP/REST web services.
- At least 5 years of Oracle DB experience.
- At least 5 years of Scrum methodology experience.
Certifications & Standards
Mandatory Certifications (one of the following):
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO).
- Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO).
- SAFe Product Owner or equivalent.
Optional Certifications:
- ITIL certification above ITIL foundation (or equivalent).
- Project management certification such as Prince2, PM2, or equivalent.
Education Qualification:
- Bachelors+8 years or Masters +4 years of Relevant Experience.
