Job Description
Marriott International, Inc. is offering a Kitchen Internship at the Sheraton Brussels Airport Hotel, located at Brussels National Airport, Brussels, Belgium. The internship is a full-time position within the hotel’s culinary team, where trainees work alongside chefs to help provide quality food to consistent standards.
Duties may include washing and cutting vegetables and fruits, preparing soups, vegetables, fish, and meat, and assisting with hot or cold sauces and other preparations as directed by the relevant Chef de Partie. Trainees are also responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in their work areas, including cold rooms, freezers, and equipment.
Depending on the assigned section, responsibilities can include preparing fruit baskets for guest rooms, monitoring fruit and vegetable rotation using FIFO, preparing food orders, following instructions from supervisors, maintaining attractive food presentation, minimizing waste, and ensuring proper use of raw materials. Trainees must follow hotel fire and evacuation procedures, grooming standards, deadlines, and workplace requirements.
The source states an internship allowance of €750/month for overseas students and €350/month for Belgian students. It also includes uniforms, free meals during working hours, public transport between residence in Belgium and the hotel, fitness-room access, and Marriott hotel discount rates.
