The project
You will contribute to an international scientific and technological project supporting European institutions and agencies, focused on large-scale scientific computing, geospatial data processing, and the development and optimisation of HPC and Cloud workflows.
- Scientific & Geospatial Data Engineering: Develop and manage high-quality global datasets, integrating heterogeneous geospatial and oceanographic data from sources such as OpenStreetMap, satellite products, and scientific observation networks.
- HPC & Scientific Computing: Design, develop, and optimise high-performance computational workflows for large-scale scientific applications and numerical modelling.
- Mesh Generation & Numerical Modelling: Develop workflows for the generation of global unstructured meshes and support the calibration and optimisation of large-scale ocean modelling configurations.
- Cloud & HPC Migration: Design and execute the migration and transfer of complex HPC workflows between Cloud and European HPC infrastructures, ensuring portability, scalability, and reproducibility.
- Data Processing & Validation: Build robust processing and validation frameworks capable of handling very large scientific datasets and supporting the evaluation of numerical models.
- Software Engineering & Automation: Develop maintainable Python-based solutions and CI/CD pipelines, using containerisation to ensure reproducible and reliable scientific computing environments.
