Job Title
Procurement Specialist
Responsibilities
- Support strategy development and execution with cross‑functional teams to deliver quick wins and innovative breakthroughs.
- Manage Category & Supplier Relationship Management – direct responsibility for multiple indirect and direct categories for regional suppliers and maintain direct relationships with local contacts from global suppliers.
- Organise and directly manage strategic sourcing initiatives (RFI, RFQ, supplier negotiations) using digital sourcing tools.
- Identify business requirements and independently prepare and negotiate contracts with suppliers with minimal legal support.
- Build and manage key supplier relationships using proven processes to realise full value.
- Engage stakeholders positively through problem‑solving and proactive communication to support business needs and cross‑functional projects.
- Drive continuous improvement to enhance supplier relationships and personal productivity.
- Leverage market knowledge and data analysis to provide critical insights that shape sourcing strategies and improvement activities.
- Achieve cost control, sustainable cost reduction, and cost containment targets with a Total Cost of Ownership orientation.
- Deliver ongoing savings and meet stakeholder business requirements.
- Participate in achieving ESG goals, including supplier diversity and sustainability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, supply chain, procurement, engineering or a related field (required).
- Solid experience in direct procurement or in related pharmaceutical roles (quality, engineering, supply chain, finance) with strong interest in procurement.
- Experience in contracting and understanding of legal, compliance and commercial elements.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills at the site stakeholder level.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to work in a dynamic, high‑speed environment while prioritising effectively.
- Willingness to manage additional categories if required.
- Results‑oriented with a problem‑solving mindset, innovative, analytical, creative and a team player.
- Strong market knowledge, negotiation, supplier management and project management skills.
- Self‑starter, action‑oriented, fluent in English and Dutch (required).
- Preferred: MBA/master’s degree or an advanced degree/certification.
