PrediQT Technologies — Brussels, Belgium

Full-time position in a deep-tech R&D team building a new scale-resolved simulation code, designed from the ground up for native GPU execution, and extending it toward weather forecasting and climate-related applications.

About The Company

PrediQT Technologies develops a new generation of high-fidelity, scale-resolved CFD software for industrial applications. Unlike incremental improvements to legacy solvers, our SuRF technology is being built as a new code, designed from the start for scale-resolved physics, native GPU execution and future integration with GenAI and quantum computing capabilities. Our ambition is to change the simulation paradigm by delivering a new level of accuracy, reliability and engineering productivity for industrial flow simulation.

Industrial demand is shifting toward simulations that can resolve complex unsteady flow physics with higher fidelity, while remaining usable in real engineering workflows. This evolution, together with major advances in numerical methods, GPU computing, quantum computing and GenAI, led to the creation of PrediQT Technologies.

Why Joining Us

Join a creative and ambitious deep-tech team working at the frontier of numerical simulation, native GPU computing, GenAI and quantum computing. This is not a maintenance or porting role on an existing legacy codebase: it is an opportunity to help build a new scale-resolved industrial simulation code from an early stage. We value scientific excellence, engineering rigor, intellectual honesty and teamwork. PrediQT is headquartered in Brussels, with quantum R&D activities in the Paris/Saclay ecosystem.

About The Role

We are looking for a numerical software specialist or computational scientist to join the R&D team developing PrediQT’s new scale-resolved, GPU-native simulation technology for weather forecasting. You will contribute to the design, implementation and validation of a new high-fidelity code, extending solver numerics and algorithms toward weather and climate applications, with a strong focus on numerical weather prediction, native GPU implementation and rigorous validation.

Responsibilities

  • Extend PrediQT’s solver numerics and algorithms toward weather forecasting and climate-related applications.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of a new GPU-native, performance-critical scientific code rather than simply porting an existing legacy solver.
  • Work with numerical weather prediction workflows, with particular interest in WRF or similar NWP codes.
  • Test and validate new developments on verification cases, documented experiments and relevant weather-forecasting benchmarks.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, scientific publications and conference presentations in CFD, NWP, weather and climate science.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has strong experience in numerical methods, scientific software implementation and weather applications. We are looking for someone able to bridge high-fidelity CFD, NWP workflows and GPU-based implementation while maintaining scientific rigor and practical engineering discipline.

Education details

A Master’s degree or PhD in computer science, applied mathematics, mechanical or aerospace engineering, meteorology, atmospheric science, scientific computing or a closely related field is strongly preferred.

Required Skills

  • Deep knowledge of numerical weather prediction codes at implementation level, with a focus on WRF or comparable models.
  • Strong understanding of advanced CFD numerical methods and their relationship to atmospheric or environmental flow simulation.
  • Hands-on programming experience in C, C++, CUDA and Python for scientific computing.
  • Good understanding of GPU architecture, native GPU programming and performance optimization for large-scale numerical codes.
  • Ability to analyse simulation data, validate numerical developments and document results clearly.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity and scientific rigor.
  • Creative, communicative and collaborative mindset in a high-level R&D team.
  • Interest in weather and climate science and the industrial impact of high-fidelity forecasting tools.
  • Autonomy, pragmatism and team spirit in an early-stage deep-tech environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with advanced CFD numerical methods, high-order schemes or scale-resolved simulation approaches.
  • Experience with CUDA, Kokkos, MPI, OpenMP, OpenACC or other HPC portability and parallelization frameworks.
  • Prior work on weather, climate, atmospheric flows or environmental simulation software.
