The Opportunity

We're looking for a Head of Sales Belgium to lead the commercial development of Market Pay in the Belgian market.

This is a hands-on leadership role, combining sales ownership, team management, and market development.

As Head of Sales Belgium, you will be responsible for growing our presence in the Belgian market, developing new business opportunities with Tier 1 and Tier 2 merchants and distributors, while strengthening relationships with our existing customers and partners.

You will also act as a key Market Pay representative in Belgium, helping us strengthen our local footprint and identify new opportunities for growth.

What You'll Do

Drive Business Growth

Own the commercial development of Market Pay in Belgium.

Identify, prospect, and win new Tier 1 and Tier 2 merchants and distributors.

Build and manage a strong pipeline of strategic opportunities.

Lead key customer meetings, negotiations, and contract closures.

Develop long-term relationships with key merchants, partners, and industry stakeholders.

Identify opportunities to expand Market Pay's footprint across the Belgian market.

Lead & Develop the Sales Team

Manage, coach, and develop the Belgian sales team.

Set clear objectives and ensure strong execution against commercial targets.

Establish a high-performance and accountable sales culture.

Support team members on strategic opportunities and complex negotiations.

Run regular pipeline and performance reviews.

Recruit and onboard new talent as the Belgian business grows.

Own Commercial Performance

You will have overall responsibility for the commercial performance of the Belgian market.

You'll:

  • Define and execute the local sales strategy.
  • Set and monitor sales targets and KPIs.
  • Ensure a healthy and predictable sales pipeline.
  • Provide accurate forecasting and regular reporting to leadership.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs.
  • Work closely with Customer Success to ensure successful merchant activation, retention, and expansion.

Develop the Belgian Market

As a key local representative of Market Pay, you'll help shape our strategy and presence in Belgium.

This includes:

  • Developing a strong understanding of the Belgian payments and retail ecosystem.
  • Building relationships with key industry players and strategic partners.
  • Identifying new market opportunities and potential partnerships.
  • Representing Market Pay at relevant industry events and networking opportunities.
  • Bringing local market insights back to Product, Marketing, and leadership teams.

You'll collaborate closely with teams across Market Pay, including:

Your role will be to ensure that our commercial strategy is aligned with customer needs and Market Pay's broader European growth strategy.

About You

You're a commercially driven sales leader who enjoys combining people management, business development, and hands‑on selling.

You bring:

  • 7+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in Payments, FinTech, SaaS, E-commerce, or a related industry.
  • Proven experience leading and developing sales teams.
  • A strong track record of hunting and closing new business.
  • Experience selling to large merchants, retailers, or distributors.
  • Strong understanding of the Belgian payments and/or retail ecosystem.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate market opportunities into conc
