Our client, a leading organization in the professional services sector, is looking for a Data Engineer to join their dedicated data and analytics team. The role focuses on developing out-of-the-box data solutions and robust reporting frameworks to meet complex business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data models for diverse business segments, ensuring optimal architecture of dimensions and facts.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL processes using a modern cloud-based stack.
  • Create high-impact Power BI reports and dashboards that deliver clear value to end-users.
  • Collaborate closely with analysts and controllers to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
  • Support and mentor internal colleagues in the development of self‑service BI reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement in system performance, data security, and functional quality.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering with SQL and Python, specifically PySpark.
  • 5+ years of experience with Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and semantic layer design.
  • Hands‑on experience with Azure services including Azure Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines, and Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2.
  • Extensive knowledge of Databricks and Delta Lake for transformation and compute layers.
  • Proficiency with Azure DevOps and Git for CI/CD, repository management, and sprint workflows.
  • Experience with data transformation using dbt.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Knowledge of Azure Spring Apps and containerization techniques.
  • You are a proactive team player with strong analytical and communication skills.
  • You are fluent in Dutch.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with Unity Catalog for data governance.
  • Familiarity with Azure Active Directory or Entra ID within a security‑focused environment.
