About the role

We are hiring a Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join our organisation and become part of the Technology Leadership team. Our teams are responsible for the development and technical maintenance of our tax & accounting portfolio in the Belgium market, consisting of both on-premise and cloud products in various domains such as personal and corporate tax, accounting, ERP & e-invoicing.

You are primarily based in our Mechelen office, with regular visits to our Hasselt and Ghent offices. You serve as a key enabler for the Agile Release Train (ART), working closely with Product Management and Product Owners to ensure a clear, well-prioritised backlog and strong stakeholder alignment. You genuinely understand our business — not just the processes — and you drive delivery accountability across an organisation of more than 100 FTE.

Your Responsibilities

As Release Train Engineer, you play a key role in ensuring the ART delivers value reliably and predictably. Your tasks and responsibilities include:

• Facilitating PI Planning, Inspect & Adapt workshops and other ART events
• Driving the execution of the Program Increment and tracking progress against PI objectives
• Managing and resolving impediments, risks, and dependencies at the ART level
• Working closely with Product Management to build and maintain a clear, prioritized backlog
• Partnering with Product Owners to ensure alignment between strategy and team-level delivery
• Holding teams and individuals accountable for delivery commitments in a structured and constructive way
• Leading process change and continuous improvement initiatives across the full organization (+100 FTE)
• Building a genuine understanding of our business domain to better connect technical delivery with business outcomes
• Actively exploring and advocating the use of AI to improve our engineering processes and ways of working
• Driving strong stakeholder alignment across Technology, Product Management, and senior leadership
• Reporting to the CTO of Tax & Accounting Belgium on ART progress, risks, and key delivery metrics
• Contributing to the Technology Leadership team and representing the ART at a strategic level

Your Profile

• Master's level thinking or equivalent through experience
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role as RTE or Agile Program Manager
• SAFe RTE certification (or equivalent) is a strong plus
• Proven track record in driving delivery accountability and process change in large organizations
• Strong dependency management and risk mitigation skills
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills — both written and verbal
• AI-native mindset: familiar with AI tools and enthusiastic about applying them in a software development context
• Structured and hands-on: you follow up, you close the loop and you get things done
• Knowledge of the accounting, tax, or ERP domain is a plus
• Familiar with agile tooling such as Azure DevOps or similar
• Fluent in Dutch and English
• Based in or able to commute to Mechelen; willing to travel to Hasselt and Ghent on a regular basis
