We are looking for an experienced Senior Guidewire Developer to support the delivery and modernisation of core insurance platforms in Belgium.
You will combine hands‑on development with technical leadership, working closely with architects, business analysts and insurance stakeholders to deliver reliable, maintainable solutions across PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter or BillingCenter.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and enhance Guidewire applications in line with business requirements and agreed architecture.
- Configure business rules, workflows, product models and user interfaces within the relevant Guidewire platform.
- Build and maintain integrations with external systems using APIs, messaging and other integration patterns.
- Develop and maintain Gosu code, automated tests and supporting technical documentation.
- Translate functional requirements into clear technical designs and development tasks.
- Investigate defects, resolve production issues and improve application performance.
- Conduct code reviews and promote consistent development standards.
- Support releases, upgrades, data migration and cloud transformation activities where required.
- Mentor developers and contribute to technical decisions within an Agile delivery team.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure solutions support insurance operations and customer needs.
- Strong hands‑on experience developing and configuring Guidewire PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter or BillingCenter, with deep expertise in at least one.
- Proficiency in Gosu, with a solid understanding of Java and object‑oriented development.
- Experience with Guidewire data models, business rules, PCF configuration and integration development.
- Experience working with REST/SOAP services, XML, JSON and relational databases.
- Understanding of property and casualty/general insurance processes relevant to your Guidewire specialism.
- Experience using Git, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing within an Agile environment.
- Ability to take ownership of complex development tasks and explain technical decisions clearly.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Guidewire Cloud implementation, migration or upgrade experience.
- Relevant Guidewire certifications.
- Experience with Guidewire Cloud APIs, Integration Gateway or digital solutions such as Jutro.
- Exposure to the Belgian, French and/or Dutch insurance market.
- Experience mentoring developers or acting as a technical lead.
