We are looking for a

As a LOCAL FINANCEEXPERT, you will be responsible for reliable and timely financial reportingfor our Belgian and German entities, while also supporting the financialfollow-up of the Italian branch. You will combine hands‑on accounting expertisewith a coordinating role, ensuring that local requirements, intercompanyprocesses and group reporting standards are properly aligned.

You will take a leading role in the monthly and year-endclosing processes. This includes preparing balance sheet reviews, following upon key reconciliations and ensuring that financial data is complete, accurateand submitted on time for group reporting.

You will also be responsible for coordinate the preparation of thelocal statutory accounts and provide the required financial information forexternal audits and tax reporting. By working closely with auditors, the Taxteam and internal stakeholders, you help ensure a smooth and well-organizedreporting process.

Throughout the month, you will investigate a broad rangeof accounting topics, including invoicing and intercompany issues, identifytheir underlying causes and coordinate practical solutions with colleaguesacross finance, controlling, HR, sales and other departments.

You will ensure that financial analyses, reconciliationsand supporting documents are clearly structured and accessible. You willcontribute to the annual workers council process and provide clear input formanagement and group reporting. With your proactive approach, you contribute tocontinuous improvement and to a strong, dependable local finance organization.

As part of this role, you will also stay closelyconnected with colleagues in Emmerich, with occasional travel to the site whenneeded to align on local finance topics and strengthen collaboration.

You'll succeed if:

  • You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance or a related field and bring at least five years of relevant experience, ideally as a chief accountant, general ledger accountant or in a similar role within a complex, international environment.
  • You are familiar with statutory reporting, audits and different accounting frameworks, including local GAAP and IFRS. Knowledge of German GAAP is an asset, but above all you are open to learning and further developing your expertise in this area.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is an advantage: branch structures, intercompany flows, payroll reconciliations, expatriate payroll set-ups, and financial systems such as SAP S/4HANA, Excel, FIRST or BFC.
  • You look beyond the figures and understand the story behind the balance sheet and P&L.
  • You work autonomously, challenge existing processes and collaborate easily with colleagues across finance, Tax, HR and other departments, including peers in other entities.
  • Youare comfortable exploring new or less clearly defined topics independently,such as new expat set-ups or other evolving local finance matters.
  • You are structured, proactive and able to remain effective when priorities and deadlines come together.
  • A strong command of Dutch and English is essential, both for local reporting requirements and for collaboration in an international environment. Knowledge of German and French is an asset.
