You will develop the real-time software that connects optical sensors, processing electronics and advanced algorithms in autonomous space systems. You will translate algorithm prototypes into robust, efficient software for flight-representative embedded platforms, with close attention to timing, memory use, throughput, reliability and testability. Your work will span low-level interfaces, processing pipelines, system integration and hardware-in-the-loop validation.

Tasks

  • Design, implement and test embedded software for high-rate optical sensor and multi-camera processing systems
  • Integrate algorithm modules for prediction, detection, tracking and state estimation into real-time processing pipelines
  • Develop hardware interfaces, data acquisition, time synchronisation, buffering and health-monitoring functions
  • Optimise CPU load, memory use, latency and data throughput on resource-constrained processing platforms
  • Build unit, integration and hardware-in-the-loop tests using simulated and laboratory data
  • Support system bring-up, debugging, performance verification and technical documentation

Required Skills

  • Bachelor or Master degree in computer science, electrical engineering, embedded systems or a related field
  • Strong C or C++ skills and experience developing reliable software close to hardware
  • Experience with embedded Linux, real-time systems, device interfaces, multithreaded software
  • Hands-on use of Git, debugging tools, automated testing and clear technical documentation
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Experience with AI assisted workflows and actively use and improve them

Desired Skills

  • FPGA/SoC platforms, DMA, high-speed serial interfaces or camera sensor integration
  • Python for prototyping, test automation and data analysis
  • Space software practices, fault tolerance, watchdogs and safe-state handling
  • Image processing, computer vision or numerical algorithm implementation
  • Interest in spacecraft systems, astronomy and autonomous sensing
  • Junior and senior profiles can apply

What we offer

  • A fulltime job in the Space industry, working with international customers and ESA
  • Opportunities to grow
