What you will do
You will join a multidisciplinary team working on the modernisation of a large legacy application with over 150,000 lines of code and around 20 modules. The application will be migrated to a modern low-code platform using innovative and automated migration methodologies.
Your responsibilities as functional analyst include:
- Analyse existing processes and functionalities in the legacy application
- Validate the output of the migration and modernisation work
- Translate business needs into user stories
- Build and maintain the product backlog
- Prepare and facilitate workshops with stakeholders
- Produce and maintain functional documentation
The project is structured in three phases spread over three budget years. Each phase delivers a standalone result that can be used independently of future phases.
What we are looking for
- Expert-level skills in business and functional analysis
- Expert-level knowledge of UML and BPMN
- Expert-level communication skills
- Confirmed experience with Mendix development
- Confirmed experience in migrating applications, processes and data to new platforms
- Expert-level skills in process optimisationJunior‑level knowledge of artificial intelligence (in the context of automated migration methodologies)
- Active knowledge of Dutch, English and French
The team's approach should leverage modern techniques for application modernisation, including AI, code analysis and model‑driven development, to increase migration efficiency and quality. You must have access to and knowledge of the proposed solution(s) described in the team's vision document.
The setting
This assignment runs from December 2026 to December 2028 (25 months) on a part‑time basis (2/5). The role is hybrid, based in Brussels.
The actual start and volume of work depend on budget approval. Each phase will be ordered separately, and ordering one phase does not guarantee the execution of subsequent phases.
