Function

Our client is undergoing a significant digital transformation and is looking for an experienced software engineer to help build high-quality applications within a complex federal IT environment. In this role, you will contribute to digital products that have a direct impact on social security and healthcare services, while working in a multidisciplinary agile team focused on short iterative cycles, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Develop robust software solutions and contribute to the delivery of working applications in an agile environment.
Take part in code reviews, automated testing, and the application of best practices to strengthen code quality.
Collaborate closely with product managers, solution architects, and fellow team members to translate technical ideas into concrete implementations.
Help identify and resolve bugs as well as performance issues in existing applications.
Document and maintain the components and solutions you develop.
Actively participate in sprint ceremonies such as refinement sessions, planning meetings, and retrospectives.
Contribute to the integration of AI tools into the daily development workflow and support knowledge sharing within the team.

Technical Skills

Strong experience with .NET and C# development.
Expertise in REST API development.
Solid knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git version control.
Hands-on experience with Azure cloud environments.
Experience with SQL databases and relational data models.
Proven background in test automation, including unit and integration tests.
Ability to support AI-assisted development and share AI-related knowledge with development teams.
Public sector experience is considered an advantage.

Practical Information

Work arrangement: at least 2 days per week on site in Brussels, with telework allowed within Belgium.
Language requirements: fluent Dutch, fluent French, and active knowledge of English.
This is a long-term consulting opportunity.
