PharmaMar is a Spanish biopharmaceutical company that, since 1986, has focused on researching, developing, and commercializing oncology treatments derived from marine sources.
Position: Field Medical Advisor Oncology
- Implement the local Medical Affairs Plan to maximize the value of PharmaMar products in the Benelux region. The role involves establishing high-quality scientific communication with therapeutic area experts (KOLs) on a peer-to-peer basis to support short- and long-term strategic objectives.
- The Field Medical Advisor acts as a scientific expert in the therapeutic area, discussing PharmaMar products, treatment trends, and relevant studies with key opinion leaders and healthcare organizations as a trusted scientific counterpart.
Responsibilities
- Proactive and reactive communication of validated scientific data to a broad healthcare audience and KOLs.
- Gather scientific insights to inform the Medical Affairs Plan and business decision-making.
- Build PharmaMar’s reputation among KOLs and position the company as a partner of choice.
- Support Medical Affairs study execution (investigator identification, site assessment).
- Develop and maintain a network of therapeutic area experts (identify and categorize KOLs).
- Continuously update relevant scientific and medical knowledge.
- Coach and support scientific speakers; participate in clinical sessions.
- Assist in medical research and identify data with publication potential.
- Organize and participate in Advisory Boards, symposia, and medical education activities.
- Publication planning, slide deck development, and training initiatives.
- Provide field-based medical support for clinical research programs.
- Deliver medical education presentations and collect feedback for internal dissemination.
- Provide scientific support to KAMs and Marketing in compliance with local regulations and SOPs.
- Maintain ethical behavior and compliance with SOPs and EFPIA Code of Practice.
Profile
- Degree in Health Sciences or Medicine.
- Previous experience in Oncology is required.
- Native Dutch or French and fluent in the second language (Dutch or French), both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent communication skills in English (both spoken and written).
- Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years in the pharmaceutical or healthcare environment, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
