About the Position
We are looking for a senior E&I Pre-Commissioning Superintendent to lead the safe and structured transition from construction to pre-commissioning.
You will monitor system readiness, priorities, procedures, resources, and interfaces, and steer the team toward energization and commissioning milestones.
Your Responsibilities
- Leading E&I pre-commissioning activities per system/subsystem and monitoring the overall readiness strategy.
- Coordinating construction completion, punch closure, test packs, loop checks, megger/continuity tests, functional checks, and energization readiness.
- Drafting/reviewing pre-commissioning procedures, execution plans, method statements, and test documentation.
- Managing supervisors, technicians, vendors, and subcontractors, and coordinating manpower and priorities.
- Monitoring LOTO, permit-to-work, energization controls, and safe interfaces between construction and live systems.
- Collaborating with engineering, QA/QC, completions, construction, and commissioning for system handover.
- Identifying and escalating technical, material, or documentation constraints that threaten milestones.
- Reporting system progress, blockers, punch status, and recovery actions to project management.
Your Profile
- Extensive international or Belgian experience in E&I pre-commissioning/commissioning within petrochemistry, chemistry, energy, or oil & gas.
- In-depth knowledge of systemization, completions, turnover, and test/energization processes.
- Experience with DCS/SIS interfaces, instrument loops, electrical distribution, MCCs, UPS/DC systems, and field instrumentation is highly desirable.
- Proven experience with contractor management and multidisciplinary interfaces.
- Strong safety leadership and decision-making skills in an environment with changing priorities.
- Excellent knowledge of English; Dutch is a plus.
Education & experience
Education: Bachelor/Master in E&I, Electromechanics, or equivalent
Experience: Minimum 10 years in E&I/commissioning, including 3+ years in a leadership role
Certificates & site requirements
- VCA-VOL required or project equivalent.
- ATEX/IEC 60079 knowledge is a key requirement for Ex areas.
