Database Engineer

We are looking for a Database Engineer specialised in Oracle database components, data modelling, performance optimisation, and database security, supporting critical enterprise environments.

The project

You will contribute to database engineering and security activities within an international project supporting European institutions and agencies, ensuring the reliability, performance, security, and continuous evolution of enterprise database environments.

• Database Engineering: Design, operate, and optimise Oracle database models, schemas, and components, including DDL, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Migration & Performance: Manage database migration strategies, backup and recovery processes, query tuning, indexing, and execution plan analysis to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Technical Support: Provide L3 technical support, manage incidents and user requests, and produce ad hoc technical reports and analyses.
• Release & Development Management: Support iterative delivery and continuous integration processes, using version control and database release management practices.
• Security & Data Modelling: Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models and implement granular authorisation and database security mechanisms.
• Documentation & Innovation: Prepare technical and user documentation, contribute to IS/ICT training activities, and leverage AI-based tools to improve code quality and development efficiency.

• Database Technologies: Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, procedures, functions, triggers.
• Data Modelling: Conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling, Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler.
• Development & Administration Tools: Oracle SQL Developer, TOAD, database migration and release management.
• Version Control & CI: Git, Flyway, continuous integration and iterative delivery.
• Performance & Optimisation: Query tuning, indexing, execution plans, database performance analysis.
• ITSM & Security: ServiceNow, Jira, granular authorisation models, database security and access control.
• Methodologies: Kanban, ITSM.
