Product Owner – eDCT Clutches Actuation
About The Role We are currently seeking a motivated Product Owner (m/f) to join our Clutch actuation team based in Eindhoven (NL) and Sint‑Truiden (BE). In this role, you work in an agile framework and are responsible for achieving QCT targets on the project deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of mild and full hybrid transmission systems by designing and optimizing clutch systems and related components.
- Design and develop power shift module components including complex sheet metal parts, selection of friction plates, clutch actuation pistons and other components to meet performance, cost, and reliability targets.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, including thermal, noise‑vibration‑and‑harshness (NVH), and manufacturing, to ensure optimal clutch performance.
- Define component requirements, align them with subsystems, and create supplier specifications.
- Perform in‑depth tolerance stack‑up calculations for complex mechanical and clutch systems.
- Identify potential failure modes using FMEA and develop comprehensive validation plans for components and subsystems.
- Manage supplier communications – coordinate, review, and follow‑up design changes and timely part deliveries.
- Lead cross‑functional teams of design, purchase and SQE, and process‑development for hydraulics components.
- Possess knowledge of design for manufacturing/assembly processes for PSM components such as complex sheet metal parts, friction and separator plates, Al die‑casting, machining, part cleanliness and laser welding related processes.
Qualifications
- Engineering master’s degree (industrial, electromechanical, or mechanical) or equivalent experience.
- Thorough knowledge and experience in mechanics, dynamics, and production, preferably in an automotive environment.
- Experience in automotive development‑related processes such as FMEA, APQP, DCP, Six Sigma, 8D.
- Knowledge of tribology and friction materials and experience with NVH analysis.
- Basic knowledge of CAE and strong knowledge of Creo and Windchill.
- Manage weekly sprint planning based on priority settings.
- Persuasive communication skills, good knowledge of English, strong teamwork and reporting abilities.
- Independent, perseverant, and systematic worker with a goal‑oriented and analytical mindset.
