What you will do

We are eager to welcome newteam members to step into this magnificent world and get familiar with theprocesses of manufacturing chips.

IC-link by Imec (https://www.imec-int.com/en/ic-link) helpscustomers to design chips and bring them to the prototype and the massproduction stage at top chip foundries. Imec offers state-of-the-art prototypeand volume fabrication services to fabless companies and system houses. ImecIC-link provides its customers specialized technical solutions for the designof chips, prototyping and mass production.

As a chip manufacturing support engineer, you are the coordinator andinterface between the chip manufacturing plants and our customers. After anextensive training by our team, you get the responsibility of the entireprocess of tape out of the custom chips designed by our customers. In this tapeout process, you will handle the following tasks:

  • Checkand guarantee the quality of chips, designer by our internationalcustomers. You do this based on the documentation provided by themanufacturing plants and knowledge you gain from the team and pastprojects
  • Preparethe chip design for fabrication at the foundries and help the customerwith final sign-off (‘go’ for fabrication). You do this with the help ofthe most advanced EDA tools.
  • Havetechnical discussions with our customers to guide them in this sign-offprocess.
  • Guidethe customer in getting the required foundry information and documentationbefore, during and after the chip design and manufacturing.
  • Followup the projects from start to end and assure that all project milestonesare met.
  • Assistthe sales team in technical discussions.
  • Havetechnical discussions with the production plants that manufacture thesechips.

Who you are

  • We arelooking for candidates with a Master of engineering degree in electronics(“industrial engineer”) or equivalent by experience with some backgroundas a layout engineer
  • Knowledgeof python/perl/tcl is an asset
  • Weattach great importance to the following core competence: takinginitiative, being client-oriented, being punctual, teamwork anddrive.
  • Weexpect that you are a strong communicator and can speak and write Englishfluently enough to support our international customers.
  • Youcan adequately judge problem situations, recognize priorities and actaccordingly in a flexible manner.
  • Knowledgeof Dynamics 365 tools is an added asset.
