Within the Life domain, you will play a key role in growing our Pension & Investment reserves, while maintaining strong profitability, operational resilience, and compliance with evolving legislation. In this position, you will initiate, coordinate, and deliver strategic, cross-functional projects aligned with the technology strategy for life insurance and broader portfolio planning.

Job in a nutshellAs a Functional Analyst (FA), you will drive the further development of our front-end application landscape, a key strategic focus for Belfius from 2027 onward. You will map end-to-end processes, gather and translate business requirements, and bridge the gap between business analysts and development teams to deliver seamless, user-centric solutions—particularly in the context of Employee Benefits and insurance-related workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Mapping, Requirements Gathering and delivering high quality analyses:
  • Analyze and document end-to-end business processes, with a focus on employee benefits and insurance-related workflows.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications and user stories, ensuring alignment with IT capabilities.
  • Deliver high quality and detailed functional analyses towards the different development teams. Have a clear and day-to-day follow-up with your assigned developers to track progress and ensure a correct implementation.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
  • Build strong relationships with business analysts, developers, and other IT teams to ensure smooth execution.
  • Challenge business assumptions and propose optimal solutions that balance functionality, usability, and technical feasibility.
  • Documentation & Testing:
  • Create and maintain clear, structured documentation (e.g., functional designs, process flows).
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate solutions.
  • Work closely with the solution architect to ensure designs align with Belfius’ architectural vision.
  • Propose scalable, future-proof solutions that support long-term growth, particularly in the employee benefits domain.
  • Lead workshops to gather requirements, validate designs, and align stakeholders.
  • Communicate transparently and proactively with all parties, ensuring clarity on progress, risks, and dependencies.

Profile

  • o Proven track record as a Functional Analyst, preferably in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • o Experience with front-end applications is a plus.
  • o Knowledge of insurance processes or Employee Benefits is a strong asset—this expertise will enable you to add immediate value in navigating the complexities of Employee Benefits workflows.
  • o Familiarity with process modeling (e.g., UML, BPMN) and requirements management.
  • o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to challenge business requirements constructively.
  • o Experience with test planning and execution.
  • o Ability to lead workshops and facilitate discussions between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • o Proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-driven, with a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
  • o Comfortable working in a collaborative environment with multiple teams.
