UFT Test Automation Engineer

• Collaborate with customers to scope, plan, implement, and refine automation solutions
• Perform testing activities across multiple projects
• Advise product teams on quality improvement
• Align testing activities with customer objectives and strategy
• Liaise strategically between management and project teams
• Analyse test requirements and ensure appropriate test coverage
• Identify defects early and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes
• Maintain clear reporting and follow up on issues and defects
• Create, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts using OpenText UFT
• Optimise object repositories and test scripts for performance, reliability, and reusability
• Maintain existing automation assets and develop new automated test cases
• Use VBScript and hybrid automation frameworks, including data-driven and keyword-driven approaches
• Use HP ALM for test management and execution
• Create and update test suites and manage test assets
• Plan and manage test script execution
• Maintain accurate test execution results and documentation
• Analyse test failures and distinguish script maintenance issues from application defects
• Investigate failures and provide information to development and project teams
• Track defects through resolution and follow up
• Identify improvements to automation asset stability, reliability, and reusability
• Participate in training and coaching activities

Requirements

• Dutch, French and English (Trilingual)
• ISTQB Foundation certification is required
• Solid functional knowledge and understanding of software testing
• Hands-on experience with OpenText UFT
• Hands-on experience with HP ALM
• Hands-on experience with VBScript
• Hands-on experience with Hybrid Automation Frameworks
• Proven experience creating and maintaining automated test scripts using OpenText UFT
• Experience optimising existing object repositories and test scripts
• Good understanding of HP ALM, including test cycles, test suite creation and maintenance, test execution planning, and test result management
• Strong analytical and logical thinking skills
• Ability to troubleshoot automation failures and distinguish script maintenance issues from application defects
• Good communication and reporting skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with development, testing, and project teams
• National travel required
